How to Create Happiness Amid Heaviness

For those that are looking for a reset, Justin suggests looking within for the light one wishes to find. Instead of fighting against something externally, turn that attention inward. When people are able to relieve their inner or past traumas, they are able to change their reality. And when they change their reality, the outer reality starts to change.
“We have to consciously choose to stay in the light, to ‘be’ the light despite the heaviness and the darkness happening in the world,” he says. “We do that through love.” And loving oneself first is where it all begins.
The conscious effort also takes practice. For example, when getting triggered by something on social media or in the news, Justin suggests tuning that out (literally). Instead, take a yoga class, practice some mediation or breathing or try this one simple trick — looking for happiness within.
Justin says that each person is capable of creating their own happiness literally on command. They can draw on a past experience of joy and happiness to literally recreate those feelings — mentally and physically — at any given moment. This is a powerful way to change one’s own reality and contribute positive vibes out into the world. “You can create your own reality through your thoughts,” he says, adding, “You are responsible for your own state. So pay attention to your patterns and ask yourself what you are contributing?”
If the answer is sadness or fear, he suggests practicing duplicating joy through the method above and putting those high vibes out into the universe.
