“What Are You Waiting For?”
In his transformational coaching sessions and videos, Libertas Real Estate Founder Justin Thorstad often prompts people with questions to help encourage them to do some inner work. In a recent Facebook post, Thorstad did exactly that, sharing a story of his own that leads him to ask people that are looking to take the next step in their lives, “What are you waiting for?”
Earlier in the summer Thorstad was preparing a presentation about a personal development class that he strongly believes in and during that time he emphasized the importance of having a sense of urgency to show up to and in one’s life. He reminds people that time is not guaranteed. In fact, even the rest of today is not promised. “The truth of the matter is, we don’t know how much time we have left,” he says.
After making that presentation, Thorstad checked his phone and retrieved a message from a past client that wanted to meet with him about selling some properties. When he spoke with the client, he learned his girlfriend (also a past client of Thorstad’s) had just recently passed away. Thorstad was hit even harder with that message of urgency that he had just spoken about in his presentation. He hopes that with that story, others will be inspired to take the direction of their dreams into their own hands — starting right now.
“I hope you use this message as an opportunity to check in and ask yourself, ‘What am I waiting for in order to take the next step towards creating the life I deserve to live?’”
He encourages people to start now and give themselves permission to take a chance on whatever it is they want to achieve. “Ask yourself, ‘What am I waiting for to step out and go for that new job, to start that new business, or to write that book I’ve been thinking about?’” he says, adding, “What I would really love for you to ask yourself is, ‘Why do I think I have more time?’”
Because the truth is, no one really knows how much time they have left on this earth. So why not take just one small step toward the direction of those dreams and of a life of true fulfillment, joy, love, happiness and abundance? Thorstad encourages his readers to do just one small thing right now that will move them in the direction of who they want to become and what they want to accomplish.
“Why continue to live as if you’re entitled to another day?” he asks, “Why not decide to start living life on your own terms, to release your own perfect self-expression, unapologetically?”
